TECNA: a new formula for the exhibition of technologies and supplies for the surfaces industry
Press release n. 10 of the 20/05/2021 17.55.59 ( download )
Tecnargilla becomes TECNA - How to make it.
The 2021 show will be a hybrid exhibition featuring streaming events to complement the in-person trade fair
The show due to be held from Tuesday 28 September to Friday 1 October 2021 in the Rimini Exhibition Centre will be the first edition with a new formula.
Tecnargilla (organised by Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with Acimac) is changing its name and slogan to become Tecna - How to make it. The show will have an even wider range of exhibition offerings, including a special focus on technologies for digital printing, surface finishing and large slab handling combined with the latest innovations in manufacturing digitalisation. At the same time it will have a more functional and agile layout.
The event aims to strengthen its position as the world´s foremost hub for technological innovation in the production of surfaces while responding to the changes that are currently taking place in terms of aesthetics, production and applications.
The show will run for 14 days, of which four will be held in person and ten as an online extension via the Tecna Next platform, an enhanced virtual space for business meetings with international buyers.
Launched in October 2020 as the first social networking site specifically designed for the sector, the digital space has become an essential meeting point for buyers and industry companies. It attracts a total of 1,413 monthly users from 64 different countries and has hosted six technical and two design-related webinars. The digital platform will be further expanded over the coming months in order to provide exhibitors and visitors with innovative services while maximising physical and virtual business contacts and offering a packed programme of events and talks.
To facilitate international attendance, a 24-hour task force has been set up to answer any questions visitors may have regarding international travel. The easing of restrictions that is now well underway in many countries, particularly in Europe, will allow a large proportion of international visitors to attend.
Tecna 2021 is therefore set to cement its position as the most important international showcase for machinery, equipment, raw materials, colours and additives for the production of surface coverings, as evidenced by the strong response from exhibiting companies who have been confirming their participation in the event in recent weeks.
International manufacturing industry indicators are showing signs of an upturn in business at the beginning of 2021 and further recovery is expected in the second half of the year, so the exhibition will be a unique opportunity to take advantage of this rebound in the global economy.
In particular, the Italian ceramic machinery and equipment manufacturers reported 33.3% growth in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year (source: MECS-Acimac research centre).

By their nature, forward-looking statements of this kind contain an element of risk and uncertainty because they depend on future events. The actual results may differ significantly from those announced in relation to a number of factors, including, but not limited to: trends in the out-of-home catering market and tourist flows in Italy; trends in the jewellery market; trends in the green economy market; trends in raw materials prices; general macroeconomic conditions; geopolitical factors and changes in the regulatory framework.
