Innovation District

TECNA, with a view to growing innovative projects, consolidates its nature as a hub by confirming the Start-Up&Scale-Up area, with the aim of creating new business opportunities and fostering dialogue between the business world and young entrepreneurs.

The initiative, inscribed in a larger project that includes the Innovation District, is organized by Italian Exhibition Group and ACIMAC, in collaboration with ICE - Italian Trade Agency and with the support of the Tecnopolo of Rimini, and ANGI (National Association of Young Innovators) as Main Partner.

 

GOALS OF THE INITIATIVE


  • To offer new entrepreneurial realities wide national and international visibility where to create exchanges and share ideas: the perfect environment where tradition and innovation meet.
     
  • To create meeting opportunities between the companies and buyers attending the event and the Startups that by attitude can foster product and/or service innovation.
     
  • To give voice to the best innovators by collecting their testimonies and promote in terms of development, culture and skills the major issues of energy transition.

 

WHO IS IT AIMED TO? 


Start-Ups and SMEs registered in the business register in the special section of Innovative Start-Ups (see Law of December 18, 2012 No. 221) that meet the following minimum requirements can apply to participate in the initiative:

  • technological lines of development consistent with the theme of the event TECNA - How to make it;
     
  • be active in the B2B market and have a website and/or promotional materials in English;

EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS 


Applications received having the requirements set out in the previous section will be evaluated by an evaluation committee, assigning a score for each of the following elements (the percentage weight of each criterion is indicated in brackets):

  • innovative content of the product or service (from 1 to 10) - (30%);
  • collaborations and partnerships - (20%);
  • product or service already industrialized and ready for market - (30%)
  • consistency with the exhibition sectors of the TECNA event - (20%);
     


Subject to meeting the above requirements, only the first 20 start-ups that are found to have obtained the highest score due to the evaluation carried out according to the criteria indicated in this expression of interest will be subject to selection.



EVALUATION COMMITTEE 


Members jury evaluation and selection start-up, Start-up Award and Innovation Award. Applications received having the requirements mentioned in the call text, will be evaluated by an evaluation committee consisting of IEG, ACIMAC, ICE and the initiative's partner network.

SERVICES OFFERED TO SELECTED START-UPS 


The initiative is free of charge for selected start-ups and includes all services at the fair listed below-excluding out-of-pocket expenses (travel, lodging, transportation...), which remain the responsibility of the participants. The Start-up Area is located within the Innovation District, ideal for new market entrants: a perfect focus for start-ups and innovative SMEs.

The services offered are:

  • Participation in both physical and digital event
  • Entry in the event catalog
  • Visibility on a dedicated web page on the TECNA website
  • Desk in startup area complete with stool and graphics
  • Access to Business Meeting platform to book one-on-one meetings
  • 1 complimentary outdoor parking pass
  • 2 booth staff accreditations
  • 50 complimentary invitation tickets
  • Access info point for reception and to provide guidance on startups in the area
  • National and international media coverage and promotion services

 

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION


Start-ups that meet the requirements indicated in the previous points may send their expression of interest, no later than the deadline below, by filling out and sending the appropriate CANDIDACY FORM, providing consent to the processing of the data contained in the expression of interest. 

 

APPLICATION DEADLINE


One's expression of interest must be sent no later than the deadline of 12 noon on Monday, July 8, 2024 according to the procedure described above.

Italian Exhibition Group, having carried out the formal checks on the applications and acquired the qualitative assessments of the evaluation committee, will proceed to select - in agreement with ANGI and TECNOPOLO RIMINI - the start-ups that will have free access to the area.

Following the carrying out of the selection procedure, all subjects who have submitted an application will receive, by July 22, 2024, a communication - to the e-mail address indicated when submitting the expression of interest - about whether or not they have been selected for the initiative in question.

The selected subjects, within 2 days from the receipt of the aforementioned e-mail, will have to communicate to Italian Exhibition Group their definitive adhesion or their renunciation.

In case of definitive participation, they will have to send the application form and form with the start-up's disclosure information.

In case of renouncement of one or more of the subjects among those selected, Italian Exhibition Group, again in agreement with ICE, ANGI and TECNOPOLO RIMINI, may proceed to select the additional subjects found to be eligible according to the ranking list formed.
