TecnAwards 2022
With the launch of the TecnAwards, which recognises the best technological investment made by international customers in 2020-22 and highlights its role as a bridge between ceramic supply and manufacturing.
9 categories in competition at the TecnAwards 2022, with a total of 24 awards.
Three will be awarded respectively by the organisers of TECNA, Ceramic World Review magazine and Italian Design Studios. All the others will directly and exclusively involve TECNA exhibitors, who will be able to nominate their customers for the various categories, with those receiving the highest scores declared the winners.
The awards ceremony will be held in the afternoon of Tuesday, 27 September, following the event’s opening conference.
TecnAwards 2022: the categories
“ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR” award
The award will be presented to the ceramic entrepreneur who, in the opinion of the jury, has distinguished themselves over the years not only for their company's achievements, but also for their contribution to the development of the ceramics sector.
The winner will be decided by a jury chosen by Acimac, the Italian Ceramic Machinery Manufacturers' Association and by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group.
“BIGGEST INVESTMENT” award
The award, bestowed by Ceramic World Review magazine, will be given to the company or group that has implemented the most significant plant investment programme in recent years.
“BEST PRODUCT OF THE YEAR” award
Awarded by a jury of ceramic décor experts, the prize will be given to the best ceramic product made between 2020 and 2022, judged on its innovative features in terms of aesthetics, technological content, functionality and originality.
AWARDS BESTOWED DIRECTLY BY TECNA 2022 EXHIBITORS
“BEST NEW PLANT” award
Based on nominations submitted by Tecna 2022 exhibitors, the winner will be the ceramics company that has built the best new production plant (or upgraded an existing one). One company from each of the following geographical regions will receive an award:
- Europe
- North and Central America
- South America
- Africa
- Middle East
- Asia
“SMART FACTORY 4.0” award
Key factors for the sustainable development of the new industrial paradigm include the complete digitisation of processes, the use of shared resources and efficient data management. The award will be given to the company that has introduced the best innovation in this respect.
“SUSTAINABILITY” award
Reducing the environmental impact of production processes is a strategic goal for most ceramics and brick companies. Based on the nominations submitted by TECNA 2022 exhibitors, the award will be given to the company that has implemented the most interesting and effective measures in terms of plant engineering targeting greater environmental sustainability and the protection of natural resources.
One company from each of the following geographical regions will receive an award:

“NEW PLAYER” award
This category rewards new businesses in the ceramics industry, companies that have only recently been created in order to produce ceramic products. Based on the nominations received, one company from each of the following geographical regions will receive an award:

- Asia
“BEST BRICK MANUFACTURER” award
The award will be decided by TECNA 2022 exhibitors active in the brick technology sector - the show’s traditional industry sector - to the brick and tile manufacturer that has most set itself apart in recent years in terms of business growth and product and process innovation.
“BEST SANITARYWARE PRODUCER” award
The award will be decided by TECNA 2022 exhibitors active in the whiteware technology sector to the sanitaryware producer that has most set itself apart in recent years in terms of business growth and product and process innovation.
