RAW MATERIALS DAY
- Thursday, September 26, 2024
- 10:15 - 12:00
- Memo
- Innovation Arena Pav. D3

- organized by Italian Ceramic Society and TECNA
The construction materials and ceramic manufacturing sectors are now facing crucial challenges in terms of environmental sustainability and resource optimisation. Innovations in the use of alternative and secondary raw materials take on a key role in this context.
The day's programme will explore several opportunities for the use of unconventional resources such as sediments from large reservoirs, which offer untapped potential for the development of sustainable new building materials. It will also explore the integration of secondary raw materials into monoporosa bodies, an approach that reduces the environmental impact of ceramic production while maintaining high quality standards.
Special attention will be devoted to the use of recycled glass, whose pyroplastic properties can be exploited to improve the characteristics of ceramic bodies. The final step will be to examine the use of filler derived from the processing and recycling of almandite garnet, a waste material that can take on a new lease of life in industrial applications.
These studies represent a significant step towards a future in which the construction and ceramic industries can actively contribute to environmental sustainability through the intelligent and responsible use of resources.
