The main function for the management and control of the production function of a company is today achieved with a computerised MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
The management of production includes the management of orders, progress made in quantities and time and transfers in the warehouse. In addition, the MES also allows for a direct link to the machines to collect information that is useful in integrating and checking the execution of production and its control. The interconnection and integration between machine and logistics system is the main driver of Industry 4.0, and the application of artificial intelligence enables to look to the “factory of the future”: predictive maintenance, smart planning and man-machine integration.
